Aber Heating Engineers Ltd recently completed work on Ceredigion’s Ysbyty Enfys Aberystwyth COVID-19 field hospital which added over 150 patient beds across two sites for the anticipated COVID-19 surge in the West Wales area. From initial contact Aber Heating Engineers used its experience and expertise of working in the healthcare sector to produce an effective design that was not only suitable for its use but also designed in a way that could be installed efficiently in a fast moving and ever-changing pandemic.
Aber Heating Engineers carried out a full risk assessment on the buildings mechanical systems. We provided and installed all of the plumbing, ductwork, sanitary and domestic services to both sites. Once completed we carried out a chlorination of the system and handed the sites over ready to be brought online should there be another peak in Covid cases, or increased demand on services in our acute hospitals.
